In this article, we will be showing you how to install an operating system manually utilizing PXE or your own ISO file.

PXE Method - Dell Dedicated Servers

  1. Access and log in to your dedicated servers IDRAC
  2. Click the Launch KVM option
  3. Once in the KVM, reboot the dedicated server and wait for the function key options to show on the server splash screen
  4. You have two options, one would be to access directly into PXE boot via the F12 function key OR you can access the boot menu via F11 and select the the NIC option
  5. The server should automatically connect to the PXE boot server and bring up the IVENTOY splash screen to select what Operating System you want to install.
  6. Select your desired Operating System and proceed with installing it normally as if from the regular ISO file.
  7. *** If your desired Operating System is not on the list on the IVENTOY splash screen, please open a support ticket and request us to add it, which typically only takes a few minutes.

ISO Method - Dell Dedicated Servers

  1. Access and log in to your dedicated servers IDRAC
  2. Click the Launch KVM option
  3. Once in the KVM, select the Connect Virtual Media Button
  4. Under Map CD/DVD Image File, click Choose File and select the ISO you want to boot from
  5. Reboot the dedicated server and wait for the function key options to show on the server splash screen
  6. Select the F11 key to access the boot menu
  7. Select the Virtual CD/DVD Rom option and wait for the ISO to load.
  8. Proceed with installing it normally as if from the regular ISO file.
